Hand-Tinted "Lover's Eye" Tintype Set In Fine and Sterling Silver with 14K Gold

I'm excited about this piece. I love the "lover's eye" jewelry of the late 1700's into the 1800's, so I decided to make my own version. This is a carefully crafted, tiny tintype that I hand-tinted using watercolor. I then sealed the image with a layer of varnish. I also made the fine silver, sterling silver and 14K gold setting and placed the tintype inside, covering it with a beautiful piece of domed glass. the pendant measures 37mm x 40mm, and I've also added a lovely 18 inch sterling silver wheat chain. 
 
Tintype images are made using the wet plate collodion photography process, one of the earliest processes invented in the 1850's, and I captured the eye image using my antique Agfa field camera and darkroom.
